Job Overview:
To better serve the global auto industry electric vehicle trend in the United States, CATL, through its U.S.-based subsidiary, CATK, is seeking a talented and experienced IT Engineer with specialization in data center operations to join our local team. As an IT Engineer at CATK, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining our central and edge data centers. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient and stable operation of our data center environments, supporting business growth and technological advancements.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the central and edge data centers.
- Plan, design, and implement expansions and installations of data centers, networks, servers, and storage devices based on business needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues in data centers.
- Install, configure, and maintain ESXi clusters, including but not limited to Windows and Linux clusters.
- Monitor and manage data center environments 24/7 to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
- Diagnose and repair hardware problems related to data center environments and servers.
- Participate in the construction and installation of servers, storage devices, and network equipment in data centers.
- Handle server host failures and operating system issues promptly.
- Maintain the data center environment, including emergency management of air conditioning failures.
- Ensure compliance with network wiring standards and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data center management or system integration engineering.
- Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting both hardware and software in data centers.
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux, Windows Server 2008, and virtual machine operations.
- Experience in system integration engineering or data center management.
- Familiarity with server hardware equipment replacement and software service debugging.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to servers and data center infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance is required for this position.
- Ability to interact professionally with individuals of varied backgrounds and skill level.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move around work sites, which may include walking, standing, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- Flexibility to bend, kneel, or crouch, particularly when inspecting installations or troubleshooting.
- Capability to lift and carry moderate weights, typically up to 25-50 pounds.
- Occasional lifting of heavier items may be required.
- Ability to work in various environments, including offices, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various job sites, which may require driving or other forms of transportation.
